Virtual Storage Manager disk usage

Hello,

What are the system specs requirements for running VSM managing 2 EQL group of 3 nodes each?

My VSM appliance virtual machine is sitting here on 50GB of storage and the VM space is full.

Is the database vacuumed? What takes so much disk space?

Hello,

Are you running an older version of VSM?   There was a problem with log rotation and old logs weren't getting rotated and compressed.

Also if you look at in-use space on VMFS Datastore side, then deletes won't be unmapped.  My VSM uses about 18GB and I monitor a number of groups with it.

 What version are you using?

  Regards,

hello,

Did you upgrade to this version of do a new install?    FYI:  There is a newer version v5.0.1. that fixes a bug with certain builds of vCenter when creating new VMFS Datastores

If you did the upgrade path, they could be old logs, so you might want to deploy a new VSM at v5.0.1 and start clean.

Hello,

Thanks.  If you still have a support contact they can help you clean up the old logs and see if it comes back. If your configuration isn't too complicated it might be easier to just install v5.0.1 from scratch.

 Regards,

Don
