Uptime of disks, not controllers?
Hi
Is there a way of displaying how long the actual physical disks have been spinning (when the arrays were powered on) rather than just the controller up times?
We may be asked to do a total cutover/power down DR test and I want to strongly advise against it because of the age of the older arrays.
Thanks.

Hi Don
I'd hate to fight any problem, especially a self-inflicted one. I'd have more confidence if the arrays weren't in in their 6th year. Need to try and delay it until we get shiny new kit next summer.
Thanks
Mark

Mostly R50 and R6a members.
FW is late and stable v7, not really been upgraded since we moved to esxi 6.0 as these units were meant to be retired by now, but the refresh was delayed so we just renewed maintenance until the 7yr EOL. Kind'a not touching much now on this old infra as its been issue free for a long time now.

Yes, best practice to whatever was written in 2015/16, we have no VVOLs etc, so its all standard stuff.
Drive FW - According to SAN HQ, a few members need updates. We have 3 groups at each site, 2 of those 6 are reporting out of date FW.
