Upgrading PS6100 from v6 to v8
We have a Dell EqualLogic PS6100XV storage array currently running firmware version 6.0.11. Windows hosts are running HIT v4.5 and we are using SAN HQ v2.5 on a VM.
My plan is the following:
1) Upgrade SAN HQ to 3.1.0
2) Upgrade HIT on hosts to 4.8
3) Upgrade firmware on the SAN to 8.0.4
Is there any issue with going from our current versions to the latest?

Hi Don,
Thanks for the reply.
We are using Windows Server 2012 R1 datacenter and it's a 3 node Hyper-V cluster.

Hi Don,
Thanks for info that's really helpful.
I agree with a maintenance window to perform the updates.
So my plan will be to:
1) Upgrade SAN HQ to 3.1.0
2) Upgrade HIT on hosts to 4.8
3) Upgrade SAN firmware first to 7.1.8 then 8.0.5.
Will all the settings and config be intact after the HIT and SAN HQ updates?
Thanks
Craig
