Unable to Authenticate to Group Manager

Hi Everyone,

First time poster here, I have come across a unique issue here that I am wondering if anyone else has faced previously.

I have the username and the password to the Group Manager but when I attempt to access it I am greeted with "Could not retrieve login account profile from the server. You will be logged in with read-only permissions" which is great, but read-only displays nothing and doesn't really help me with making changes as required.

If anyone has any advice as to how I can resolve this issue. Unfortunately this is a production device so resetting is not an option.

Hello, 

 That sounds like you are using AD for authentication.  Do you have the GRPADMIN password? 

 If so try that.  As it sounds like there is a problem with the array verifying credentials with the AD server.  once you get into the Group Manager check the data and time on the arrays.  make sure they are time synced to match the AD server. 

 Do you know the array models and firmware?

Hey Don,

Turns out that it wasn't using AD Auth, I ended up speaking with Dell Support who ran me through the one time password approach to reset the grpadmin password.

The units are running 8.1.1 so they are pretty out of date on these PS6100 and PS6200 arrays.
