Spare disk for EqualLogic PS4210 Series

Hi,

we host an EqualLogic PS4210 Series NAS with 24 x 1.8TB mounted on Raid6.
One of the disks failed and we replaced it with a Dell Certified spare disk we buyed some times ago, before this hardware was out of support.

According to the Group Manager log, the new disk is checked and verified with success, but it stays offline forever ! Tried another spare disk we had in stock and buyed at the same time, with same result.

The only difference I can see between online disk and the new ones is the Config Code written on the sticker, which is 1341 for the old ones and 2341 for the spare ones. Can it be the reason they can't connect to the NAS ?

Where can I find cerified spare disks, even refurbished, with the right Config Code ?
Thanks a lot

Hello,

I am finding only one 1.8TB drive in the PS4210 parts database.

Part #:8PF11

Part Desc.:ASSY,HD,1.8T,10K,2.5,SGT,CE,FR

1.8TB, 12Gb SAS, 10K, 2.5, 4k, Seagate Thunderbolt

This five digit pard number is a Service part number. They do not typically come up on the Dell website.

To ensure you get the correct disk you would need to call in and ask for the Spare Part Department to get a quote for purchase.

That is important because you also need to specify to them it is for and EqualLogic PS4210 so that it has storage firmware and not server firmware.
