Setup not function

I would need some more information such as the system model, raid configuration, firmware levels you have.

You cant "setup" a EQL when there is a existing Disk error.

Iam not sure if you try to setup an EQL which is already configured. If its configured.. than "reset" will start the process of a factory reset. Once finished and restartet you can start the "setup", which automaticly kicks.

Now the message is a completly other one.  "No Devices" looks like your EQL isnt equipped with original certified EqualLogic drives.   Yes, the unit will not except a non certified EQL drive.

So please send a photo what type of drives you have there.

Do you have image of physical hard drives showing the drive label?

If they are all the same then one image would be fine, if there are different disk then one sample image of each different disk please.

I ask for photos of the drives ;)  "No drives" means that no disk are attached. Maybe the CM, Backplane is broken.  On a up and running EQL there is "raidtool". The question is if there is a command to display the inventar like "show".

  Yes you can swap the CMs BUT PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that there is a small SD Card on the bottom of each CM which needs to be swapped. The SD contains the OS and all informations.

Because you have 2 EQLs... which one do you test and does the other one reacts the same or different?

Answer: Yes, they all have the same color, and I have 2 PS6110 devices, both have a problem and I can't run the setup.

I'm trying to reset the unit to use it, recreate the RAID, but I've tried everything, even resetting it, and I'm not successful in reconfiguring it.

A EQL needs half or all slots populated with disks. Your "diskview -j" only show 11 disks and disk 1 has state of "scanning". I dont know what that means.

Please reseat disk in slot 11 or  swap disks around and see if the problem moves also.

If one of your CMs is broken use one of the others but change the SD card and dont mess around with the cards!

The disks in your 2.5" modell have different colors. Please remove the bezel... if you have 7xSSDs and 17x10K  than its a "6110xs" with means its a hybrid which runs Raid6 accelerated only.

About RAIDs... the "setup" just creates (multiple) RAID10? and later after the network and group is configures you will choose your final RAID level.

Yes you can run a EQL with a single CM (none of my 42 EQLs have only one CM).  

Firmware 6.x is stone aged... 10.x was the latest.

About your Disk photos... because of no 3rd. Party drives.. and when all showing the same detail i would assume that these are original EQL certified drives. I am not able to verify the part numbers because of no Dell employee

Again.. 7+17 Disk is a 6110XS (10k + SSD).

What i would do....

1. Boot with only one CM in the system and try the setup
2. If setup isnt working... use the same CM but swap the SD from the other one

The one System which only showing 11 disks. You need 12 to meet the requirements to get the setup running. Reseat the disk in slot 11 or swap with another one and see if the state is changed.

Yes it is possible to copy content of one SD to the other one.  But i cant remember about the detail and i havent any informations left because the learning was 15 years ago :)

If you can verify which SD is a good one you can try a linux "dd" to copy the SD

No you cant upgrade the EQL Firmware without a running system and it needs to be in a healthy state. There is no GUI needed for upgrading because you can upload the Package and start it from the command line
