SAN HQ annoying emails

Battery life in matrix controllers has reached 10% [ID: 3.18]. Therefore, I received an alert - that's ok. However, this alert comes every hour from every array which is very annoying. I have already changed the server email notification frequency settings for 1 day - it has changed nothing. I don't see the option to approve this alert to stop coming.

What can I do to fix this problem?

My SAN HQ version is 3.1.0.7890.

Hello,

Please verify that the alert is coming from SANHQ and NOT the Group with the affected controllers.  H/W failure messages come from the Group as well as SANHQ.

In SANHQ under Alerts you can look for ID 3.18 and disable it.  Though make sure you re-enable it when the batteries are replaced.  3.18 is a general health alert.  So if something else comes up later you won't get that alert.  Creating a temporary rule on your mail client could be another option.

If the batteries get to 0% then failover won't work and on power up if they are both at 0% the array won't boot up completely.

Hi Don.

Yes, I know that I can turn off alerts with ID 3.18 completely, but I think that they also apply to other notifications, not just about the battery. Also, I'm afraid I might forget to turn it on later.
I am aware of what will happen when the batteries are completely empty. Unfortunately, the Polish branch of Dell does not have these batteries

Hello,

If the array is not still under a support contract, Dell won't sell you the batteries regardless.

You will need find get them from a 3rd parry vendor.

Fortunately I found these batteries from another supplier. I Replaced. Now the matrix no longer shows errors. Of course, I have not forgotten to re-enable notifications (3.18).

Thank you for your time.
