Replication status : Partner needs upgrade

Hi everyone,

One of our system using equallogic replication. The replication status for equallogic suddenly changed to 'partner needs upgrade' lately. The description of the status I checked from http://psonlinehelp.equallogic.com/V3.3/understanding_replication_status.html which mean one of members need to upgrade. When I checked the version for both, they have same version(7.1.5). I log case to Dell support, they asked to upgrade the firmware version to remove the error. But the system is critical system and strictly could not bring down. Is there anyone else face the same case?

Hello,

 This sounds like an old issue where when replication checks for the version it gets a invalid version message back.  

  You can restart the array at the DR site that will likely resolve this.  However, until you do upgrade the problem could return. 

   There are so many fixes an improvements since 7.x  You could likely also be due some drive firmware upgrades too. Which also requires you to be running newer firmware.
