Remove offline member EQL4210 Challenge Response Needed

Hello, I have 2 out of warranty EQL 4210 in a group, one of which appears to be catastrophic failure. Multiple failed disks, etc. It is currently showing offline and will not begin initializing. Due to the fact that this is simply a DR site it is not worth spending the time on attempting data recovery, I simply want to remove the offline member from the group and go forward with the single member.

IN order to remove the offline member it tells me I need the challenge response from Dell, and the phone support person told me an engineer would answer here. Here is the info from my member delete command:

Deleting an offline member may cause irreversible loss of data. Before the
operation can proceed, contact Dell Customer Support to ensure that this is
an appropriate action. If Dell Customer Support believes that this is the
correct path, they will provide a response to match the following
firmware version and challenge number.

To cancel this operation, press without entering a response.

Firmware version: V9.0.5
Challenge: 2560

Since I don't know when I"ll actually get a response to this I guess I'm going to need to have somebody live. Every time the Serial Connection times out and I attempt the command I get a new challenge number.

Hello,

Unfortunately, the Dell rep had incorrect information.  No one here can provide the response code.

1st, as you noted there's a timeout element that makes it impractical.  2nd, the process is done via a server and you have to verify ownership, etc. before you can provide the response.  Since that same tool is used for password resets.  Via this forum we can't verify that you are authorized to do this action.

 Apologies.

 Regards,

Don
