Hello,
Could you be more specific in describing these new disks? Are these Dell disks? If so do you have the part numbers available?

You need Dell drives with an EQL firmware which are on the whitelist. Every other disk will not work.

Hello,
The drives have be manufactured specifically for Dell PS Series SANs. A standard OEM or even another Dell drive, will not work in an EQL array. It's not the firmware itself.
Re: LUN/POOL. No. A "pool" is made up of a physical members. You can't have one physical array be in two pools. Once you set the RAID policy for a physical array additional drives will be added to that same RAID type. You can't have one member with multiple RAID types. Once the expansion finishes you will have the additional free space on that member. For new volumes, snapshots, or expanding existing volumes.
