PS 4210 has two controller, are they active / active?

Hello Group,

I am currently configuring PS4210, but will need some understanding of the IP addressing of the controllers.

1. Should i give IP address to the secondary controller? or they are active / active, so no IPs?

2. In primary controller, i believe that i should give IP to eth0, what about eth1?

Quite confusing, can anyone help me with the IP addressing of the ports..?

No, they are Active/Standby which means that the Standby CM add CPU/Cache but no Network. The role change if you restart the array or a CM failure occurs and the StandBy becomes the active one.

ETH0 and ETH1 are 2 iSCSI ports and  ETH(2)/MGMT is the optional dedicated Management Network port.

Talking about "vertical port failover" is the next chapter .... ;)

Joerg
