Old Ps6110
I'm new to EquaLogic. We have an old SAN that ran out of space and is inaccessible to VMware. Is there a way to get to the data, so I can delete old data off of it from the EquaLogic?

Techbum,
What you can try is going into Group Manager and verify if there' any snapshots, if so then if you have a lot you can remove the oldest ones first and that free up some space.
Also, if you have other EQL systems, then you can migrate volumes to that system and create free space on the PS6110.
I would NOT suggest just killing the configuration, because if you don't have the licenses you would be out of luck.
Let me know if this helps.

Hello,
The EQL array is a block level SAN, not a NAS. You can't access files or data from the array itself. Only a server connected to it, that is compatible with the filesystem on those volumes will have the ability to access the data.
In addition t\o checking for snapshots, check that the snapshot reserve is at 0 for all the volumes.
If the volumes were thin-provisioned and you over provisioned the array, and removing snapshots, or snapshot reserve don't resolve it, the remaining options are delete a volume you don't need, or buy another EQL array that is compatible with the 6110, bring it online, then add it to the same pool as the existing array. This will bring the volumes back online.
What version of EQL FW is on that array?

Don

Hello,
Just in case check that it's not in a replication partnership with another EQL group. You might be able to remove or reduce the delegated space if so.
