New SD Card in Type13 Controller

I would appreciate if someone can help me with a Type13 controller situation.

We recently obtained (3) Type13 controller cards from a company.  But these cards do not have SD cards.  We have a vendor that can give us the SD cards, but they are asking for the FW that is on the controllers so that they can put the same firmware on CF card.

However, we are not sure which commands to use to obtain the firmware information on the controller card.  We can put each card in one of the working chassis, but we can't boot the chassis since one is not available.  So, we simply like to insert one of the cards as a secondary and then run commands to find its firmware version, so that we can get SD card matching the same version.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

if you login to the blade center gui you can see the firmware version of the good controller from there.

Is that the version of the controller or the CF/SD card?

The SD Card, should be something like 9.1.8 or 10.0.2 etc.

Thanks, but I think I need to clarify my post.  SD card firmware is not what I am looking for.  I am looking for information on the controller firmware.  I do not have an SD card in the controller.  In order for a third-party supplier to give us the SD card with the correct firmware, we have to give them the firmware of the controller.  He said that can be found via serial cable during the boot, but that's not an option for us.  I believe there is a command that would show the controller firmware version while the controller card is in the chassis.  I am just looking for someone to give me that command.  Hope this helps.

as far as im aware the base firmware on the actual controller is errelevant, and as far as i know you would have to use a serial port for the information you want.

it has never been an issue for me. if your putting the controller into a configured array then all you need to do is match the sdcard version as thr working controller.

Hello Sharad,

Is the array up?  If the array isn't booted there's no command to run. If the controller that is missing the SD card is the PASSIVE, then you can log into that member via SSH and run:

GrpName>show member

This will display all the members in the group and their EQL FW vesion.

If this is the only CM, and there is no SD card installed, then there's no way to determine the FW.

 Hope this helps,

Regards,

Don
