Merging two existing groups
Hello,
We would like to migrate volumes from a PS6100 R50 1Gb to a PS6210 R6 10Gb both currently have existing volumes. Is it possible for two existing groups to join, migrate volumes from PS6100 to PS6210 and continue to using the PS6100 volume group.

There is no way to merge as Don has stated.
We have mixed our 1Gb and 10Gb members in the same group but we put them in different pools, per Dell's support.
All 1Gb members are in one pool and all 10Gb members are in another pool. Also, we set the hosts nics to match the network speed of the arrays. So if a host is connecting to a 1Gb pool, we set the hosts nics to 1Gbps. If a host is connecting to members at 10Gb we set the nics to 10Gb.
Make sure you are using a good Dell Force 10 switch and that your flow control settings are at what Dell recommends.

Thanks for the information and yes we are using a good Force 10 to manager the backbone.
Once the groups are in place have you run into any issues moving volumes between the two groups, my goal is to move all volumes PS6100 to PS6210.
Thanks,
Robert
