Free space is below threshold of 15 percent

Hi,

 I recently setup a ps6110s and I have 9.1TB of total space.

I created a 6TB volume with 30% snapshot reserve. Last nigh I received the following error via email

WARNING event from storage array SRV-TRI-EQL-PS6110 subsystem: MgmtExec event: 8.3.65 time: Wed Jan 6 00:00:00 2021 Free space is below threshold of 15 percent for pool default. Default Snapshot Schedule will run with max-keep set to 1.

In order to resolve this issue, do I reduce the space allocated to the reserve snapshot?

Here are my existing setup.

How are the calculation done? is it 9.1-(15%+30%)

9.1TB is total capacity
30% is snapshot reserve
15% is threshold

Hello,

You can thin provision the 6TB volume or you can ignore that message.  It's not about snapshot reserve is about how much has been allocated so far.  There is a built in schedule to create snapshots with a max keep of 2 on any volume with snapshot reserve allocated but no schedule for snapshots exist, or no snapshot have been created yet.

You can also disable that feature or change the time it runs.

GrpName>grpparams default-snapshot-sched
disable - Disables the default snapshot schedule.
enable - Enables the default snapshot schedule.
show - Displays the current values of the default snapshot schedule.
start-time - Set the default snapshot schedule's start time.

Regards,

Don
