Failed disk
I have a failed disk on an Equallogic PS110 device, however support for this equipment has ended.
buy a disk with the same specifications to execute the replacement however, once you make the change The controller does not recognize the disk, sending a message of: “the unit in cabinet 0, the unit is not compatible with this matrix. contact your matrix support with the model number
According to notes from their forums I found that it can be cause of the firmware level.
Does the firmware upgrade apply to the entire controller or only to the disk?
What are the requirements that I must take into account?
Is DELL technical support necessary?
It should be noted that the new disk has a higher level
I hope you can help me

Best bet would probably be going to eBay and doing a search for the Dell P/N and specifying EqualLogic in the search as the same Dell P/N can be used for Compellent and regular servers I've noticed.

Hello,
There is no way to may an OEM, or other non-compatible drive, compatible with EQL SANs. They are made specifically for EQL/Dell by the MFR. No way to correct that post mfr.
Re: EQl/SC. That's not true in all cases. Earlier arrays only worked with EQL branded drives. Also, other "Dell" drives from an MD/ME or PowerEdge server do NOT work in EQL or SC arrays either.
You will need to find a 3rd party vendor that has proper "EQL" drives.
