EqualLogic PS Series - Console Cable
Hey everyone...
I picked up a used PS Array for my home lab, but I have tried 2 Molex RJ45 to DB9 console cables and a USB to RJ45, plus 2 Null Modem RJ45 to DB9's and none have I been able to get a telnet session to work with. Can anyone tell me where I can get the original cable from to get this configured. I am in desperate need of storage for my home lab and this thing is sitting here like an over-sized paperweight!
If anyone has a spare or is willing to part with one I can pay for it with paypal (As long as the price is not absurd!).
Thank you!
Bill S.

All my EQLs comes with a DB9 port, so all what you need is a standard DB9<->DB9 serial cable. Comes with every elcheapo dell powerconnect switch for example. If your PC/Laptop doesnt have a DB9 serial anymore (most likely) a USB->DB9 adapter is needed.
EQL use the standard settings for a serial connection like 9600,8,1,N. I use windows "putty" all the years.
Modern EQLs, and all 10GbE Units, come with an optional RJ45 BaseT Ethernet port. But this one can only be configurated after the initial setup. Over this port the Groupmanager can be reached by http(s), ftp, ssh... not sure for telnet (but i think so).

Joerg

Joerg,
Thank you for responding, but I have a very early storage array. I believe the PS100-300 all have the RJ45 Serial/console interfaces, which afterwards was exchanged for an actual DB9 console interface. the console port is a serial RJ45 not a DB9. A DB9 to DB9 will not help me at all. There is an article with the pinout specs but I am looking for the actual cable as I have tried to convert one of the DB9 adapters I have using it but have had no success.
Anyone else able to help?
