Dell PS6100 Not responding post upgrade

Hi, we have started the upgrade of the PS6100, and we are going from 8.1.3 to 9.0.9 initially. All went well as the initial disk firmware went through fine, and then the install of 9.0.9 went through and the SAN required a reboot. This we rebooted but we cannot now connect to the MNG IP. Both Modules are LAN connected and both show status and traffic by nature of the led's flashing. Im a bit stuck now. Any ideas please?

Hello,

When  you say both modules are "LAN" connected you mean both the Management ports on each module are connected to the LAN network AND the SAN ports on both controllers are connected to the SAN network?

You will need to connect to the serial port of the active CM to see the current status of the active controller. To determine what happened and  what the next steps are.

Best course is to open a support case immediately.  If you don't  have a support contract you can open a one-time case for a fee.

 Regards,.

Don

Great stuff, thank you. Yes, I meant that the MNG are to LAN...

Much appreciated.

Hi Phil,

You are very welcome.  I would also try to ping the Mgmt Well Known address but also the Management PORT address.

One thing  you do NOT want to do is power off the array, or pull controllers.  Leave it as-is until you can get into the serial port and contact support.

  Regards,

Don
