Creating a group for existing PS4000 and PS6010 - Just checking.
Hello,
We have two existing EQL units that were never actually placed into a group. They have successfully done their thing for the past five years or so, but now it's time for an upgrade. I've got a couple PS6510Es ready to assemble in the data center. The first will be for production, the second will be for replication and snapshots only (eventually headed off-site).
I have a simple plan for getting all data migrated from the old EQLs to the new: I am going to join the existing EQLs (PS4000 and PS6010 running V7.0.9) to a group and then join the new EQLs once they have been built. Since it seems too easy, I am concerned about the Group building process. I just cannot locate a case or write-up where someone has pulled two production EQLs into a brand new group (where they are the only members).
I'm probably missing something, so if there are any pitfalls or gotcha's that I'm missing.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Thanks Don,
Yup, the existing units are in their own individual groups, so I may have to group the two new units with the larger of the two old, and just use vMotion for the other. I thought the documentation for joining a group seemed a little thin.
Thanks,
Mark

Excellent. Thank you for the documentation as well!
