Configure MPIO settings missing from Remote Setup Wizard

My environment is Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 and HIT Kit 4.8.

During install of the HIT Kit I selected all options but appears that ASM is missing.

The Remote Support Wizard is missing the link "Configure MPIO Settings" and the MPIO Settings button is grayed out in Dell EqualLogic MPIO tab in iSCSI Initiator Properties.

As well eqlasmapp.exe is missing from the \bin directory

Hi Don,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried HIT/ME 5.0 prior to trying HIT/ME 4.8. Same behavior with both versions. MPIO Windows feature is installed and feature is grayed out. (can't be removed) I verified this feature prior to installing HIT/ME.

BTW, I have multi-path connections to two MD3200i's on this server. The MD's and EQL's are using different NIC's, switches and subnets.

Hi Don,

The issue I'm facing is that I'm unable to run the MPIO settings wizard. My understanding is the MPIO settings are accessed via ASM. Seems like ASM is not getting installed with the HIT kit. The screenshots earlier indicate that ASM is musing on my system.

I don't plan on using the snapshot feature but I do want to take advantage of the MPIO features.

Is Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 supported by the HIT kit? This is the Windows server evaluation from TechNet. Just trying to figure out why the installer isn't installing some components.

Thanks

Hi Don,

I installed 4.8 and re-installed 5.0. The MPIO Settings button is still greyed out on the Dell EqualLogic MPIO tab.

I've used RSWCLI to exclude all non EqualLogic subnets.

The PS6100 array has 4 adapters and the host has 2 adapters.

I'm selecting Enable Multi-Path but only the one adapter is creating a connection to the array.

The sessions are created by connecting to the group IP, what's the best way of creating the multiple sessions for each adapter?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm installing as domain admin.

Hi,

Uninstalled, rebooted, logged in is local admin, installed 5.0, rebooted. Same behavior, MPIO Settings button is greyed out. "Install ASM to Configure MPIO Settings"

I've used RSWCLI to exclude subnets and set default load balancing to Least Queue Depth.

C:\Program Files\EqualLogic\bin>rswcli -MPIOExclude -network=192.168.0.0 -mask=255.255.0.0

C:\Program Files\EqualLogic\bin>rswcli -MPIOExclude -network=169.254.0.0 -mask=255.255.0.0

C:\Program Files\EqualLogic\bin>RSWCLI.exe -mpioparameters -defaultloadbalancing=LQD

I'm not sure why the necessary settings are missing...
