Chaning dedicated management ip question
Hi
We use out of band management on our dell equalogic san. I have attached a screenshot.
The dedicated management IP has 10.8.0.17. 10.8.0.x is our management network. For some reasons I need to change the network and Enable dedicated management on IP for example 10.11.0.17. Can we assign an IP from a pool 10.11.0.x which is our san IP and use it as a dedicated management IP?
Thanks
Paras.

From your Screenshot your ISCSI WKA (Well Known Address) is coming from 10.11.8.0 so iam not sure if you mistyped this.
1. Yes, dedicated MGMT can be changed
2. Dedicated MGMT have to be always a different subnet compared to the ISCSI WKA
3. If MGMT should be in the same subnet... you have to disable the dedicated MGMT and than the normal eth0 Ports are used and your reach the EQL GroupMGR over the ISCSI WKA. This is how the early EQLs are working and also all units like PS6000 which didnt comes with dedicated ports but you can convert the last eth3 into a dedicated port. All 10G units and the later ones comes with dedic. ports.

Thanks for the reply. So if we disable the dedicated management interface, we can use group ip address just as we use the management ip addreess. Is this true? In the screenshot below after we disable the dedicated management, we can use 10.11.8.17 as a new management ip?
Also do we have to disable the management interfaces (eth1) on all the controllers?
