Add New PS4100 to an Existing Group
Hi,
would anyone be able to explain the process of adding a new array to an existing group please?
We've got a new PS4100 which has been shipped with Firmware 7.0.15 but the existing group has a PS4000 array on Firmware 8.0.5.
How can I upgrade the firmware on the new PS4100 before running the Setup utility?

Let the new member join an EMPTY Pool like the "default" (its always an emtpy one in our environments) or create one and name it setup or maintenenace.
If the array joined that pool finish the configuration like IP/Network Ports, RAID level and so on. I prefer a complete Rebuild and not a Fast init but thats your choice. Upgrade the FW and also check the Drive FW.
Try to ping the new IP adresses from the existing hosts and if everything is OK move the member into your production pool.
