VNX - Event Number 4640

We are getting warnings about login issues from something called "EV_SPSubsystem" and "EV_MultiHostRAIDXX" are we are not able to know where these warnings are coming from. We searched on internet for those two events but nothing found. We know this is a user/password issue. We changed the sysadmin password recently.

In our environment we have a VNX5700, MDS9148, Cisco UCS 5108, VMWARE with Windows VM only, PowerPath/VE, Avamar, Replication Manager, Recover Point. We also have Oracle and SQL. Any idea where this warnings could come from? These are the warnings:

Time Stamp 06/28/12 08:29:06 (GMT) Event Number 4640
Severity Warning Host DC2-VNX1_SPA
Storage Array CK************ SP N/A Device N/A
Description Access is denied to EV_SPSubsystem called by 'sysadmin'. Application Accessed: ManagementServer. Result: Failure.

Time Stamp 06/28/12 08:29:06 (GMT) Event Number 4640

Thanks in advance.

When you changed the sysadmin password, in earlier releases you had to also remember to manually synchronize the Control Station credential store.  The errors you are receiving is from the CS querying the Management Server on the SP's for various information.

Since you are receiving the error, this actually suggests you are running a very early release of VNX OE for file as it was fixed (automated) in recent code.

Review the following KB article:

emc261195: "Changing the Global VNX administrator password causes communication failures between the Control Station and the array"

Thank you for your answer. In this case there is no CS in the system. The array is only CLARiiON so far. The VNX OE is 05.31.000.5.720, upgraded recently. Any other idea?

I am running on different VNX code on 5700. The support team says its a design.. And asking me to disable the to event code 0x4640. how could be? If I do so, and anyone attempts to access the array. Then I would not be coming to know on time...
