Upgrading powerpath version 5.3 > 5.5 on a RHEL san boot system
Hi,
I´m new to this forum as well i began to work with emc powerpath some months ago.
I have a question that official documentation cannot give me an answer.
Given a red hat server with rootvg disks , oraclevg disks and raw disks belonging to a Clariion , in order to upgrade a to a newer version i have the next question
1.- Could i start the server with the lvm.conf filter modified in this way : filter = [ "a/sda$/" "a/sda1$/" "a/sda2$/" "r/.*/" , all the vgs commented but rootvg and after that stop the Naviagent in the host and PowerPath , and then executing the rpm powerpath new version installation??
I mean, the server will boot from the san, but without using pseudonames and only system san disks ignoring the rest of fs and disks.
Or could it be a problem to install the upgrade rpm with just tje rootvg up where system resides .
Thanks for your answer
