Support Forums are Slow

I'll send the e-mail.  But for example the time between clicking on 'reply' and the reply page opening up so I could type in it was 15 seconds.  It's been going on for me since I started using the forums (before they moved here, actually) so I assumed it to be an infrastructure issue (Powerlink is notoriously slow for example).  I have no slownesses on other internet forums/websites.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply - I've branched this into it's own topic so it has the right visibility.

I'm interested in your observation that this performance issue pre-dates our migration.  When we moved, the entire architecture changed from an internal system to a hosted one, so we don't even use the same network as before (except for folks on the EMC LAN).  That is, the only thing that didn't change is the users and the content.

My ECN friends are dealing with this, and have been for a few weeks, as their number one issue.  They've made some progress and some improvements are already noticeable, but it's not complete.

My one ask is this - when you suffer, let us know.  I can commit to keeping you updated in return when I have news.

Thanks again,

Erich

For me forums have been slow ever since we migrated, i just got used to it. I just click on particular forum, switch to another tab in my browser and 10-15 seconds later i can see that it's finally loaded so i switch back.

Basically the same as Dynamox.  Things were slow (about half as slow as here) before we migrated.  Since the migration it's the 10-15 seconds issue I mentioned before and that Dynamox echoed.

Prior to migration it could take 5-10 seconds between click and go.  Since the migration it's 10-20 seconds.

I find the same thing, but I'm starting to suspect that some of the slowdowns I see now are actually lag generated at my end (in my browser on my computer). Even when I'm home I almost always use my work laptop to connect. Twice now I've logged in using my home PC (which is more like a "2013 model Lamborghini" compared to my work "Volvo") and everything was much faster (i.e. very acceptable). I was quite surprised.

I have the same slowness problems from my 'Lamborghini' at home as I do from work on my laptop.  So I don't think that's the case.

I did receive an e-mail that there was maintenance going on last weekend to fix the slowness issues.  It IS faster than before but it still seems sluggish to me.  Page loads are down from 10-15 seconds to 5-10 seconds between click and load (at least for me) now.

Update:  As of 1:11pm EST the forums are back to 10-15 second speeds again.  Given it's midday for a lot of us I'm wondering if that isn't being cause by user load on the servers.
