Solaris to Linux Oracle Migration
Has anyone out there have success migrating an Oracle Database from Solaris to Linux?
Here are the difficult details:
Current DB..Oracle 11g on Solaris mounted on NetApp storage.
Target DB Linux Redhat 64bit mounted on EMC VMAX.
Size of Database is 14TB.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Current thoughts for our environment are:
1.) Taking a clone copy of the VSU side on a temp server
2.) Export Tables to NFS mount connected to Linux on EMC. (Time consuming)
3.) Import into Linux
4.) Rinse and Repeat
Issues with this are time and network traffic, plus downtime of Production database for official cutover.
