poweredge t410 perc 6i internal sata storage

hello i have a dell poweredge t410.I needed to expand the drivers with 4 tb or more drives not the c drive. i ve search all the web for a solution and all disgussions and forums said that a perc controller upgrade was a must from perc 6 to h 700 and higher.I connected one 6 tb drive to one of the sata ports and from bios i set the sata configuration  to auto and the system recognized the drive,in all sata positions.All hard disks stress test find the disk in perfect condition..The question is will the system will be stable for back up purposes,is anyone has done this to the past?The disk will not be in array.
