Next Generation Online Experience Forum
Apparently they don't really want feedback since the link is dead. Does anyone know where to find this?
For the record, after watching the slideshow I think they are on track to mess it up again. Why does everything have to be social? Social is the new "Web 2.0". I just want a site that is dedicated to Documentum and nothing else. It should have an account managment section (profiles, users, licenses, etc), a forum, a ticketing system, developer's resources (like developers.emc.com), a software/documentation download page, and a wiki. It should be designed to require the least possible mouse clicks and without any whiz-bang flashy-ness, just a clean, simple style with minimal fuss yet highly functional. I want a web site that is simple and to the point. A web site that is a tool that will allow me to be more productive and get my job done and won't get in the way. I have no intention of socializing, networking, or making "friends" on a support site. That simply isn't the purpose of such a site and every minute you spend developing those features takes away development time and energy from the things that do belong and that are important.
I understand that EMC has a large number of products (a big part of the problem) but there is no reason it can't use subdomains or URI parameters to bring sites dedicated to products and/or product categories.
Also, a lot of the software they need to design this kind of support site already exists as open source software, it only needs to be scaled and integrated into a single cohesive site. I can understand that they may want to do it themselves instead of relying on open source software and that is fine, but if you're going to do that, at least do it better than what already exists in the open source community today.
I'll repost this to the requested forum if/when it is available.

I haven't seen any mention of this anywhere in quite some time. Is it still a real project?
