NetWorker Migration - nsrdr

Hello, We are planning to migrate NW (19.6) from Win. 2016 to 2019. Dataset contains mostly VMs and some physical clients. Bootstrap and CFI is in cloud as well as on-prem DD.

New 2019 host will have the same hostname and the IP as the current production (2016) host. Is performing the DR steps on the destination host the right approach? Existing license is served, would Dell convert this to unserved at no cost?

Here is the plan:

- Run Server protection policy on source server

- mminfo -B output

- Stop NW services on the source

- Shut down source server

- Assign the same hostname and IP on the destination (2019) host

- Fresh install NW server and NMC

- Configure on-prem DD device (or AFTD with the bootstrap/CFI backup)

- nsrdr

- Perform DB/Index consistency check

- Restart NW services
