Issues with Time Finder when backing up MS Exchange

Hi Guys,

I am currently having issues with backing our MS Exchange servers using the BCV Time Finder. The problem It keeps failing and errors with a status code of either 1539 and 1541, which is actually related to the disks. As I am not to familar with how exactly Time Finder works I would like to hope you can advise of what I should be checked for?

What I have done so far is check that all disks are masked correctly and visable to the dedicated backup server and ensure all the BCVs are in a split before initiating the Time Finder job scripts, which all looks to be correct.

We have one fibre SAN which is shared across four backup servers and only one Time Finder backup runs at any one time (We use Maestro to scheduler the jobs) and I am finding this error appearing inconsistently across the four backup servers, as the backups will complete successfully to one backup server the one day and then fail on another the same day and then fail on the one that had previously worked and work on the one that worked, getting confusing.

Platforms is Windows 2003.

All the mail servers are at SP2 level and currently the backup servers are at SP1.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Kind regards,

Sat Powar

At which point does it fail ? importing VSS snapshot ? What's in the log file on the backup server ?
