Issue setting BIOS password with Command Configure -- Agent reported error: 65 or 58

I am attempting to set a BIOS password using Command Configure in MECM.

I will preface this by saying that the DELL guide has several shortcomings and does not help at all on configuration. It omits so many details.

So the problem is pretty simple. I configured the policy to pass the bios configuration from intune with the following settings:

In the bios setup i set the following settings:

on the first attempt, the configuration was successful.
Now I have applied further changes to the bios but it does not apply them as I always get the same message:

2024/05/29 16:29:24 cctk - Setup Password is required to change the setting. Use --ValSetupPwd to provide password.

2024/05/30 08:47:35 cctk - The old password must be provided to set a new password using --ValSetupPwd.
2024/05/30 08:47:47 cctk - CCTKAppEngVer=4.11.1.48
2024/05/30 08:47:47 cctk -

Anyone can help me?

Hello thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community:

May I ask if you are doing this for PowerEdge server? If so could you tell us the idrac version?

We have the exact same issue. First time setting it up works, but then no changes can be made.
We worked around this by manually going to the bios and removing the password, however this isn't feasible if we ever need to update bios settings company wide.
