Intel(R) 10GbE 2P X710 Adapter won't update

Have a Dell R430 with an Intel 10GbE 2P X710 Adapter, when I run the "Update and Rollback" through the iDRAC it sees that it has a firmware update - current firmware is 18.8.9, update suggests version 22.0.9.  

However the scheduled jobs fails with "RED097: Unable to complete the firmware update operation because the specified firmware image is for a component that is not in the target system inventory."

So is the update catalog broken or is the firmware on the card so old that I need to step through updates ?
