The first thing I would do at this point (besides opening a case with EMC Support) is to right click on the array in the Navi Manager console and select "Faults". This should give you a bit more detail (at least potentially) on why the SPE is faulted. It could be a drive, power, a fan module, or some other subcomponent. Often the Faults view will provide additional detail to narrow it down.

Can I clear this faults? I can't upgrade firmware on SP with faults.

Hello

You should collect spcollects from both SPs and parse it by CAP2 utility.

After that you will get xml report and several txt files with aggregated logs and configuration.

It helps you to reveal the problem.

But best you can do is call to local EMC support to solve the problem.

Best regards,

Alex

Hi,

I have started getting "Disk Array Enclosure (Bus 1 Enclosure 1) is faulted. Servers may have lost access to disk drives in this enclosure. See Navisphere Manager Alerts for details." All disks are fine except Disk 9 with 0gb Event code: 0x740a. I even tried to replace a similar hard drive from other enclosure, restarted this particular DAE and same result. Appreciate if anyone please help me on this.

Thanks,

Hello,

you could try to restart the manegement servers (http://ip-SPA/setup and choose the mgmt server restart, then wait until it’s back up and then log on to ip-SPB and restart the same server) to see if that helps. If it doesn’t: please place a call at EMC to have them sort this out for you.

Thank you so much. Is restarting managment server spA & spB effect other Raid Groups that are online?

Please let me know.

Restarting this service has no impact on your live environment. It’s a management service that’s needed for Navisphere Manager, nothing else.
