Dell/EMC CX200 booting issues
Ok, please forgive me if I ramble on. I received 2 two CX200 units each with 15 300g drives now one is set as a DPE2 and the other as DEA2. got a fiber card and cables and .... nothing. hooked up to the monitor port on the DPE2 and watched the CMOS run thru the boot up, and it just keeps repeating the boot sequence. Looking on the DPE2 there are 2 different CMOS resets.
Does this device boot from the local hard drive or from the network?
What is the correct CMOS settings for this thing to boot correctly?
I have downloaded every configuration planning guide and white paper I can find, a lot talks about installing these but not troubleshooting any post problems.
If any have time and want to help me.... I would be grateful. Even if it is to a manual that I need to find. You can also send the info to johnofranks@earthlink.net
Thank you
John

Hey John,
Does this device boot from the local hard drive or from the network?
No, the OS in it is called FLARE.
They sit on the BOOT Drives, which is on the Clariion itself.
You have to connect serially assign IP to the management port.
Assign a password, connect through the WEB GUI with the assigned password or set a putty session and start from there.
You will find more on this from the below link.
The gentlemen up there have covered almost everythin you might need.
If you need more info, post up here. We ll be here to give you directions.
Happy configuration.
