"Dell PowerEdge R410 - no display after iDRAC factory reset
- Fans spin up then normalize
- System seems to be running
- Front LCD shows 1210 error
- Rear Health LED is amber/orange
- Removed all expansion cards - no change
- Already tried: CMOS reset, iDRAC reset"

Please find below my solution and a few suggestions regarding the above issue.
Solution – Dell PowerEdge R410: No display after iDRAC factory reset (Error 1210)
The 1210 LCD error on a Dell PowerEdge R410 indicates a system board / iDRAC communication failure, which commonly results in no video output and an amber health LED.
Step-by-Step Resolution
1. Perform a complete power drain (flea power)
• Power off the server
• Disconnect both power cables
• Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds
• Reconnect power and power on
2. Boot with minimal hardware
• Install 1 CPU
• Install 1 known-good DIMM in the primary slot
• Remove all HDDs and PCIe cards
• Test with onboard VGA only
3. Verify jumpers
• Ensure NVRAM_CLR and iDRAC reset jumpers are returned to the default position
• Incorrect jumper position can cause error 1210
4. Reflash BIOS and iDRAC
• If video returns, immediately update firmware in this order:
1. BIOS
2. iDRAC
3. Lifecycle Controller
• Use Dell-recommended firmware for PowerEdge R410
5. System board diagnosis
• If no display persists, iDRAC is unreachable, and error 1210 remains, the system board is faulty
Final Resolution
If all the above steps fail, system board replacement is required. This is the most common and confirmed fix for R410 no-video with 1210 error after iDRAC reset.
Summary:
Error 1210 + amber LED + no display after iDRAC factory reset on a PowerEdge R410 almost always indicates system board failure or corrupted iDRAC firmware.
