Can we Club multiple SITE ID to one single Site id?

Hi All,

One of my customer has various EMC systems registered under different site id's. now they are facing issues while opening support cases or checking out warranty details etc.

they want to merge all the systems to one site id.

is this possible? if yes, can someone help me out on how to merge them to a single site id?

all your help and replies are much appreicated. Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards

You cannot have site ids deleted, but you can move equipment and software to another site id, simply ask your EMC representative and he/she will make sure this is done. It generally shouldn't take more than a couple of days to get it done.

Rp,

Can I confirm first though that the hardware you are looking to merge into the same site ID are in the same physical location?  It is just that over time, multiple site ID's for the same physical address were created?

Christopher, that happens all the time. For example we have 4 sites, but maybe 10 or 15 site ids! I even have 2 of them registered to my former home address!!!! Trust me that we never filled out a "new site req" form asking for a new site id to be created on my home address, but it still happened.

And in the Netherlands all EMC can do is asking the guys that deal with site ids internally to add "DONOTUSE" behind the wrong site ids.
