Updating Driver CABs in SCCM
So, I've been utilizing the Drive CAB packs exclusively for our OSD (which are amazing, btw...). I had already downloaded the A00 version for the e6420 (with the bad nVidia driver) and had just been manually installing the nVidia driver later in the TS. Now, the A01 is out. My question is, how are people "upgrading" their drivers in SCCM when they use the CAB packs? Here's how I currently manage my drivers:
I download and expand the CAB file. Then I use the "Import" selection from right-clicking on "Drivers" in the OSD section of SCCM. I point to the expanded x64 or x32 directory, add all my tags (latitude, dell, x32, e6420) and create a Driver Package based it's identity (i.e. Latitude e6420 x64). This way of doing things has been working beautifully for us, and I simply use the "Auto-apply drivers" step in my TSs. I also have the hotfix for SCCM applied that allows you to have multiple versions of the same driver.
So for my scenario, should I just delete the drivers from my "Drivers" section based on my keywords, then re-import the new A01 CAB? Or is there another way to do this that is more of an "upgrade" path?
Thanks.
