Sysprep Woes - Dell E6320
My company has recently purchase a large number of Dell E6320's for our employees and I have been tasked with creating a somewhat 'Universal' image for these machines. I have done this with ease in the past, Windows XP - HAL Independent etc, but with the obvious move to Windows 7 things have changed.
For some background information the way things are setup here are; WDS and MDT running on a Windows 2008 Server R2 machine:
1. I install W7 on a Laptop (Audit Mode), install my various applications, latest drivers, change user specific settings (wallpapers etc);
2. Run 'sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown';
3. And capture the image via WDS and/or xImage;
4. I then create a 'WDSUnattended.xml' and 'ImageUnattended.xml' for the WDS Deployment step.
That all went successfully, no errors - everything looked great, UNTIL I switched on the machine I just imaged with our Custom W7 Image, problems encountered were:
1. Free Fall Sensor driver did not carry across (seems like it was removed);
2. Display Drivers were also gone, defaulted back to like 800x600, generic driver;
3. Background didn't carry across.
I've done some reading and saw a few others run into similar problems, but saw no solutions - Please note that I DO have 'true' and 'true'.
Any pointers or help would be GREATLY appreciated.
