problem with Intel Ethernet Connection I218-LM driver in most cab files
We use powersave on our cisco switches so if there is no connection it turns off the port. That feature is a problem for the Intel Ethernet Connection I218-LM driver that is inside most of cab files like E5440 or M4800. If we deploy PXE works and because the Pre OS POST takes a bit of time the driver is not trying to reconnect and gets an APIPA.
The solution is to update the driver to a version of release date 06/12/2014 or higher. I have seen people with problems with 802.1x also with these older drivers. here is a link to there forum

I ahev seen this issue on Win 7 and 8.1 32 and 64 bit

hi Cfettouhi,
Can you please give us details about the driver cab versions you are using for the deployment.
We came to know after working with Intel that the drivers we are shipping with the cab should have a fix on this issue.
Thank you for choosing Dell.

Also can you confirm if you have serviced the image to include Symantec end point or related products?
