Old BIOS not recognizing CCTK passwords
Hello everyone,
I am experiencing an odd issue on an old Optiplex 760 with a A02 BIOS (I know it is very old but I need to cover it in my deployment process, we will update them after success of the following operations).
I have tested the following with the latest CCTK 2.1.1 137 and with a CCTK 2.0.1(this one: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/driverdetails?driverid=6JXMY)
So:
When I set a password (either a new one with a previous old one or just a new one) from CCTK, I can use this set password with CCTK without any problem. But once I go into the BIOS there is no way I can have it correctly.
Let's say for instance I type: cctk.exe --setuppwd=00000000 --valsetuppwd=12345678
The command is successful and the new password is now 00000000 while the old one (set by CCTK also) was 12345678.
But when I go to the BIOS, 0000000 is incorrect whether I am trying with the numpad, the main keyboard with or without caps. No way to get it right.
And this is the exact opposite scenario from the BIOS. If I set a BIOS password from it, it will work from it everytime (either with numpad or mainkeyboard) but if I try on CCTK it keeps telling me it is incorrect (again either with numpad or mainkeyboard).
Does anyone know what might be the problem? I am really stuck here and do not know what to do except upgrading the BIOS. Which I don't want to as it is a one way action and I need to change password on many 760 that might have A02 and from CCTK.
Thanks a lot :) !

Hi
Any how it is not problem with CCTK, but you can try with latest CCTK 2.2 build which is avilable in below link.
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/Product/optiplex-760?driverId=8FMHW&osCode=WW1&fileId=3220766388&languageCode=en&categoryId=SM
if still problem is not solved means, use latest BIOS to flash the system which avilable in below link:
