Need assistance with imaging a Precision T3600

Hello!

First post here in the Dell Enterprise forum.

We have received 6 Dell Precision T3600 desktops, and when we boot to our Ghost boot disk, no drives are being seen.

I figure this would be the right place to ask, what drivers do we need to update our Ghost boot disk with so that it will see the drive installed in the chassis so that we can pull down our corporate image?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Peter

If you ordered the T3600's with Windows 8, they are configured to use UEFI instead of Legacy BIOS.  If your version of Ghost doesn't include UEFI support, you won't be able to see the drives on the system as they use a different file system (GPT) than Legacy BIOS (MBR).

If that's not the case, then it is probably due to the fact that the T3600 utilizes a PERC controller instead of Intel for mass storage devices.  Your boot process with Ghost would have to have the latest PERC storage driver to be able to see these drives.

http://support.dell.com should have the driver you need unless you are needing something really old like a DOS driver.

Thanks for the quick reply Warren.  We ordered these with Windows 7.  I have checked the BIOS and it is set to Legacy boot, so I will look into updating our Ghost boot disk with the PERC controller.

Much appreciated!
