MDT and Dell Drivers
I have the daunting task of deploying 4,000 computers. The requirements are Windows 7 Enterprise x86
We have 3 Optiplex models(990,960,980) and 8 Latitudes( D430, D830,E6500, E4300, E6510, and E4310, E6520, and E6320)
Fortunately, Dell has the drivers for all 11 models. I downloaded the Win 7 combo pack and now have 2 zip files. One for the optiplexes and one for latitudes...
Using MDT 2010 Update 1 should I create one big folder and drop all drivers or what is the best way of attacking this? I only desire one master image that we can use for all 11 models.
Any guides or assistance is greatly appreciated!

I understand. Does it matter if the combo download is in a zip format? Will MDT have trouble reading it? I couldnt find a CAB file under the dell website for the latitudes and optiplexes...

One master image is everyone's goal. How you get there is more of a personal preference. Some folks like to target individual systems (or groups of systems) to a given set of drivers. Others like to put them all together and let Windows sort them out.

Extract the .zip file. It will create a nice folder structure for you that MDT can use.
