Latitude E6540 speedstep issue
We're struggling with the installation of the new Dell Latitude E6540.
We are installing these systems via MDT 2012 (WinPe4 x64 boot images).
We noticed that installation is progressing slowly. This already starts when applying the image from WinPe.
We then noticed that we didn't have full CPU capacity during installation. Also when the system has been deployed and booted in Win7x64.
When we disable speedstep in BIOS all goes well at full CPU speed and capacity.
Enabling speedstep afterwards and CPU slows down again.
Looks like a BIOS or driver issue (WinPe4 and Win7x64).
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Kind regards,
Bart.

Yes, we found the cluprit. We were using the 90W power supplies on our workbench. Using these power supplies have an effect on speedstep!
Using the power supplies that came with the Latitude solved the issue.
