Latitude E6420 - BIOS with updated Intel OpROM?
Hi,
Is there any chance a BIOS will be released with an updated RAID oprom for the E6420. The chipset supports Intel Smart Response Technology (SSD Caching), but the current OpROM is very old. It is at 10.1.0.xxx and I believe Intel SRT requires at least version 10.5 and up.
It would be great if Dell could provide a new BIOS with a current OpROM. I would be happy to test.

I was wondering why the "Accelerate" option was not showing up for me on the Dell E6420. It seems it has to do with the Intel firmware version. At least, I don't keep to keep troubleshooting.

It seems even the latest A21 bios is still running 10.1 Intel RAID ROM. It'd be nice to have Intel SRT 10.5. They are updating the Intel MEFW... I don't see why they can't update to a newer ROM. That would also give us the ability to use larger sized hard drives such as 3TB or 4TB drives.
