Latitude E-6520 Storage Controller
I am trying to load Windows 7 x64 and am using an OEM DVD.
I get to the point where it asks where Id like to install the O/S and no hard drives are listed.
When I 'browse' to load mass storage controller drivers, none of the ones I've downloaded from Dell drivers section are recognized. Why are the mass storage controller drivers such a difficulty to source?
And more importantly, where are the drivers?
I then set BIOS to ATA (VS RAID) thinking that it then would see the hard drive, but it does not.
For recordation sake, the drivers I've downloaded both hard drive drivers and extracted to folders and placed on my USB drive. They are:
1. Seagate Momentus 2.5, SATA, 3Gb/s, 7200, 512e Firmware Update Ver A04
2. Intel rapid Storage Technology Driver Ver 10.1.0.1008
I did an internet/google query regarding my plight and a suggestion from the following link said to use the 02 driver.en.community.dell.com/.../default.aspx
which then pointed me to here:
www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails
Of course this did not get recognized as the driver for the hard drive.
