Installing Dell Command Update 2.0 on Virtual Machine
We currently use a VM to create new install images. In the past we were able to install Dell Client System Update on the VM without any problems so it would be included on newly imaged Dell machines. When I attempt to install Dell Command Update 2.0 on the image VM, the install fails. The following lines are in the install log:
Action start 10:41:05: IsSysOEM
1: ISSyssOEM Custom Action: Computer system manufacturer is not Dell
1: ISSysOEM Custom Action: This is not an OEM system
Action ended 10:42:43: IsSysOEM. Return value 3.
Is there any way to install Dell Command Update 2.0 on a VM like we were able to do with Dell Client System Update?
Thanks

Hi SUG,
Thanks for choosing Dell. The latest version of Dell Command Update (v 2.0) will not supported on VM and Non-Dell machines.
thanks,

Hi,
The support was removed in the latest version of DCU (v2.0) so it will not be enabled in the future release. I will get the confirmation from DCU team and update you on this.
thanks,
