E6430 Drivers and Question
Question:
We are just now starting to use E6430. I downloaded the CAB and all install as it should, however,
1) Once the WIM is applied and it goes through the setup and the process eventually gets to load the desktop I have a box stating that I must restart the computer to complete the changes. I do not get this message with any of my other images.
What is the best way to auto-restart after all finishes installing?
2) We purchased the laptops for the Web-cam. The drivers are included and install with no issues, however, I can't seem to use the web cam. I"m sure I need the software. I nagivated to the laptop's drive page and found the driver/software package.
How do I get the software/driver so that it will auto install?

the CABs don't include accessory software like web cam software unless the vendor has included them in the .inf install. In that case, you will need to either include the web-cam software in your base image, as a task sequence item, or use software distribution to deploy it later.
Regarding the restart message, have you determined what is causing it? Is it a specific driver that is requesting the restart?

I guess now its my fault for not keepnig up with my own thread
Yes, I finally figured out (by calling support for one) that software such as the video is not included.
About the restart message, I have not been able to determine which application might be asking. I have not looked at the event log, even, if it does it may be the last item installed that is triggering the reboot but it be respnding to a previous request to reboot but postponsed until the chain is installed.
Any ideas how I can digure which one is the one that wants to reboot?
