Driver CAB file - Help with New Driver Release
I am populating my MDT drivers with system cab files and notice a few of them show yellow in the status saying there is a New Driver Release on Support.dell.com. I'm still new to this, so this may sound silly. Where is this updated driver exactly and how do I import said driver into my MDT environment? I have tried going to the drivers page of my OptiPlex model in question and I'm not sure if this is where I'm supposed to find it. I downloaded the driver and extract the files. Sometimes it doesn't work that way; for example chipset drivers let me extract them, but then there is a setup.exe file that I try to get the inf drivers out of but I have never had that work. So what do you typically do, when you see a new driver in the CAB status list. Here is what I'm looking at: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/5004.optiplex-9020-windows-8-1-driver-cab.aspx

The yellow items on the "Delta Report" show what has been updated since the last version of the CAB. It does not mean you need to get a new version of the driver. A full explanation is found here -> http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/4884.driver-cabs-understanding-delta-reports.aspx

1. i only use this site so don't know if the are the same.
2. Did not check if it was on there but this is what i found; http://ftp.dell.com/published/Pages/optiplex-9020-desktop.html and seeing a bios version from 5-8 this year i think it is updated.
3. is this any help on your mdt issue? http://scriptimus.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/mdt-powershell-importing-drivers/

Ah, I see now! I swear I read that report before but maybe I just didn't really know what I was looking at.
Thank you.
