Dell Command | Configure Utility Crashing & Blank INI Files

I am using the "Dell Command | Configure" 3.0 utility (formerly called the "Dell Client Configuration Toolkit") to set the BIOS setting for all our Dell enterprise machines.
We have a mix of desktop & laptop models.

The utility is working fine on most models, but will not properly run on a few models.
I am trying to use the "-o" option to create an "output file" with the current BIOS settings.

1. When I try to run the utility with the "-o" option on an Optiplex 745 or 755, the ini file produced is blank with only the header and machine model number.
None of the settings are recorded in the ini file produced.

2. When I try to run the utility with the "-o" option on a Precision Workstation T5400, the whole utility just crashes a second after it is loaded. It never even completes running to produce any kind of ini output file.

All models, including the ones with issues noted above, have the latest BIOS revision available installed.

Could you please help me to get this utility to run properly on these three models with issues?
I need to be able to properly configure them en mass.

Thanks.

The Command Configure utility doesn't support OptiPlex 745 and 755 as per the manual in the installation directory. This is the primary reason I'm still using the older CCTK since we have several 745's and 755's in production.

rga6,

What manual where?

I don't see any manual where CCTK 3.0 installed to in Program Files.

Also, I don't see any reference to 745 or 755 in the documentation online here:  www.dell.com/.../manuals

Could you tell me where you are getting this info from?

Also what is the latest version of CCTK that worked with the 745 & 755?

Thanks.

It was in one of the guides I read a while back, when I ran into the same issue as you... can't seem to locate that info now; however, on the download page here

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=HDWXV

It does not list the 745 and 755 under "Compatible Systems". Right now I reverted back to CCTK 2.2.1

Are you sure 2.2.1 works with the 745 & 755?

I just tried it but I still get a blank output ini file.

*2.2.1 did work on the Precision 380 and OptiPlex GX620 that 3.0 did not.

Hi Asantia,

Can you please share me the Bios version and OS version details on the Optiplex 745, 755 and Precision T5400.

You can also create one multiplatform ini for your required bios changes using Dell Command | Configure GUI console and import in cli console in any machines.
