CCTK wake-on-LAN issue with Latitude E6500s

Greetings, all,

We are having some trouble using the CCTK to enable Wake-on-LAN on Latitude E6500s.  I am not sure if this problem has affected other models here.  My Optiplex 960 workstation works fine for this, so I am guessing it is limited to E6500s or maybe Latitudes in general.

If we manually go into the BIOS and enable Wake-on-LAN, it works fine.  If we use the CCTK to do it, it actually changes the setting in the BIOS, but it doesn't work anymore.  We can go into the BIOS and see it has changed it to "Enabled", but wake-on-LAN packets don't work.  If we then set it to "Disabled" and back to "Enabled" manually, it starts working again.  Additionally, if it is already set to "Enabled" and we run the CCTK, it stops working.  So it seems the CCTK is causing Wake-on-LAN to stop working.

I went through a Dell tech support chat (reference #865960535), and it was recommended I post the issue here.

We have been using version 2.0.1 of the CCTK, but we tried 2.1 (the most recent version) when we noticed this issue, and the problem still persisted.

All of the other options we use the CCTK for (TPM activation, auto-on after power loss, etc.) work fine.  It's just wake-on-LAN we are having issues with.

Note that we are using the command-line CCTK (cctk --wakeonlan enable).

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi MeadMA,

Can you please let us know which version of BIOS are being used in these systems ?

I apologize for the long wait on response.  After a while, I thought my post was missed.

We were using an older BIOS revision when we first experienced the issue, so we tried updating a machine to A18, but it still occurred.  So on the machine I am currently using for testing this issue, A18 is installed.  And it does still experience the issue.
